Two unique sports viewing possibilities for our trip:
#1 = FIFA Women's World Cup Final in Frankfurt on 17 July - we'll already be there staying with the Imig family. Not sure if we could get tickets or if it might end up being kind of a late night for the girls, but if the United States women make it to the final, it would be another once in a lifetime opportunity.
UPDATE 5 July: No tickets for the final are available online at this time.
#2 = Tour de France final stage into Paris along the Champs-Élysées on 24 July - we'll be in Paris already, staying with a friend and colleague of Brian's, Sebastian, who used to work with him at U.S. DOT. This is much more likely; we'll try to find a spot along the final circuit and soak in the wonder that is the Tour de France.
UPDATE 5 July: The final stage ends about 5:00pm in Paris; we could take the train back to Brussels later that night or early Monday morning.
More exciting options! I just put the Tour de France on TV to show Lucy what it is all about.
